Hankelow Parish Council came into existence on the 29th May 1953.

From 5th June 2017 until 14th July 2017, any person interested has the right to inspect the accounting records for the financial year to which the audit relates and all books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers and receipts and other documents relating to those records or documents. The next meeting of the Parish Council will be held in the Hankelow Methodist Church Community Hall at 7.30 p.m. on Monday 3rd July

Assets of Community Value

The Parish Council has registered the White Lion pub with Cheshire East Council as an Asset of Community Value.

The Parish Council has registered Hankelow Methodist Church with Cheshire East Council as an Asset of Community Value.

Rural Housing Needs Survey 2013

In 2013, Hankelow Parish Council, in conjuntion with Cheshire East Council, undertook a Rural Housing Needs survey of Hankelow Parish.

Affordable housing

At the meeting of 2nd March 2009, there was a discussion of a "Housing Feasibility Study" for 8 semi-detached houses on land adjoining Longhill Lane between Poolside Cottage and the Golf Course.
